Goal

GOAL 1 Graduates will demonstrate specific knowledge and proficiency to practice at the entry-level in a medical laboratory setting.

Learning Outcomes

1. Students will demonstrate specific knowledge on fundamental laboratory principles prior to first clinical rotations.
2. Students will demonstrate specific knowledge on fundamental laboratory principles during the final year of the program.

Goal

GOAL 2 The students will be able to apply learned theories to demonstrate necessary skills to perform as a medical laboratory technician as defined in the Standard of Accredited Educational Programs of the Medical Laboratory Technician.

Learning Outcomes

1. Students will apply the learned discipline-specific theory to achieve a satisfactory assessment for each discipline during their clinical practicum in the medical laboratory settings.

Goal

GOAL 3 Students will communicate effectively in written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.

Learning Outcomes

1. Students will demonstrate professional conduct, communication, and interpersonal relations with laboratory personnel, patients, other health care professionals, and the public.
2. Students shall craft a resumé suitable for employer submission prior to graduation.

Goal

GOAL 4 Program shall meet the outcomes required by NAACLS for accreditation (Program Efficacy).

Learning Outcomes

1. Graduates will effectively transition information and experiences learned in the program to performance on the National Board Certification Exam.
2. Graduates shall effectively transition information and experiences learned in the program towards employment within 6 months of graduation.
