Program Information/Mission
The International Studies area of study at Illinois Central College is for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university for completion of a baccalaureate degree. Within this curriculum, students take courses in the social & behavioral sciences and humanities to gain a more global perspective, as well as an understanding of other cultures. The student is required to take a foreign language to deepen his/her understanding of another culture. Study abroad is encouraged with this program. This degree will serve as a basis for various careers in the field of international relations, foreign or public service, or careers in international institutions. This degree indicates to future employers that the student has a basic understanding of the world and its peoples.
