Goal
GOAL 1 Graduates of the program will demonstrate the skills necessary to accurately inspect components before assembly, analyze trial products during development, or test finished goods. During these processes, they will record and analyze the results in order to decide whether to certify or reject specific products.
Learning Outcomes
1. Analyze industrial prints including dimensions, tolerances, allowances, geometric tolerances, and notes.
2. Inspect components and compare to print requirements.
2. Inspect components and compare to print requirements.
Goal
GOAL 2 Graduates of the program will have a general understanding and appreciation for the procedures within manufacturing for safety, quality, logistics, and other things and be prepared to positively contribute to the production team.
Learning Outcomes
1. Follow all prescribed safety rules including the wearing of personal protection devices, properly using lifting tools to move equipment & supplies, following lockout/tagout procedures, and site specific requirements.
Goal
GOAL 3 Graduates will use precision measuring tools, communicate how manufacturing processes produce the required features within specified tolerances, and verify that features are indeed within tolerance.
Learning Outcomes
1. Perform Gage Reliability and Repeatability studies (Gage R&R) on gages used during machining processes.
2. Create X bar & R charts for implementation for manufacturing processes.
